How I actually use it: to challenge my reasoning, not echo it.
The highest-value use is not producing documents. It is thinking: deciding in the open, verifying before shipping, staying calibrated, turning wants into specs.

The standing instruction
A partner, not a yes-machine: test the framing, challenge weak premises, separate fact from inference from guess, surface disconfirming evidence, say plainly when it does not know.
Decide in the open
An outside view forced, three-plus options, a bias check and the strongest opposing case, written to a decision record.
Verify before it ships
Every claim, figure and quotation graded against primary sources; a material unverified claim halts the work before it reaches anyone.
Stay calibrated
A second read on whether a live problem is normal or a real blocker, when my own judgement is closest to the stress.
Idea to spec
A vague want interrogated into a build-ready specification, played back before anything is built.
Why this is the real product
Not five features but one way of working: the value is not the documents it produces, it is the decisions I do not get wrong.
